Tool Bar Help
The WordWiz Tool Bar Contains 12 Buttons. Each Button is described below.
Version 4.0

Use this button when you want to begin making a new puzzle.

Opens an existing puzzle.

Saves the current puzzle or grid pattern.

Displays the "Print Preview" window. Use this window to adjust the page formatting, and to print the puzzle.

Displays the "Grid Layout" window. Use this window to adjust the grid dimensions, and to set other options related to the grid layout.

Note: The graphic displayed on this button will change to show the current "Symmetry" setting. (Diagonal symmetry is shown here).

Opens the "Word Search and Instant Options" window. Use this window to specify the minimum and maximum desired word-lengths for creating Word-Search, Instant-Crossword, and Instant Word-Fill puzzles. WordWiz will avoid using words that are shorter or longer than the specified lengths.

Opens the "Word-Finder" and "Anagram-Finder" windows.

Use the Word-Finder to find words (in the current word bank) that match a specified pattern.

Use the Anagram-Finder to find words that can be made from the specified word or phrase.

Opens the "Clue Editor" window. Use this window to write the clues for the puzzle words.

Opens the "Word Bank Edit Pad" window. Use this window to change the currently loaded word-list. You can also use this window to create and save your own word lists. WordWiz uses the words in the current word-bank to automatically build puzzles.

Use this button to switch to "Grid Design" mode. While in this mode, you can click (or drag) on the puzzle grid to add or remove blocked cells in the grid. You can also key in letters into open cells to manually place words into the grid.

Use this button to switch to "Lock Cells" mode. While in this mode, you can click on a cell that contains a letter, and "lock" the letter into the cell. Locked cells will not be changed during the automatic construction process.

Use this button to switch to "Construct" mode. While in this mode, WordWiz will build the puzzle for you. When the construction process is complete, WordWiz will automatically return you to the previous mode.

While a puzzle is constructing, you can click either of the other two "modal" buttons to interrupt the construction process, and make changes to the grid pattern.

If you click this button while a puzzle is constructing, the word-list will be re-shuffled, and the construction process will be re-started.
